B-school courses available at centre

The Telegraph 4th June,2008 Udai Singh, executive vice president, announces the launch of NIIT Imperia at a city hotel. It would offer around 15 programmes costing between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakh each. This includes short-term and long-term courses in general and functional management from prestigious institutes like IIM, Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Indore and Lucknow and IIFT, New Delhi. The new centre situated at the Circuit House Area will use technology to connect the classroom with the faculty at the institutes. A broadband connection with a two-way audio-video software would enable this. To flag off the new training initiative, Udai Singh, the executive vice-president and head, NIIT Imperia, said: “It aims at enhancing the capabilities and productivity of working executives in the industrial hub of the region, thus enabling them to get an edge. NIIT Imperia is designed to match the aspirations of working professionals while taking into consideration their mobility and time constraints of pursuing a world class management program.” Content, teaching and certification for the programs offered through NIIT Imperia, would be provided by partner management institutions, while the technology and classrooms across the country and the distributed education system would be provided by NIIT. Having established its presence in the metros in the very first year of its operations, NIIT Imperia is now targeting other cities. This is its first centre in Jharkhand. “Jamshedpur is among the few cities in India where NIIT Imperia will make available its comprehensive portfolio of executive management programs,” said Singh. Established in 2006, NIIT Imperia is now has 22 centres in cities including, Delhi, Gu rgaon, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calcutta, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam and Chandigarh.
